Common name:  Formosa firethorn.

Introduced for horticulture, it is invasive in Central Texas and Hawaii, and is considered a weed in Australia.
Endemic to Taiwan, it is threatened in its native range due to exploitation for commercial trade.

Pyracantha koidzumii is a thorny shrub 8-12 feet tall. The leaves are simple, entire, oblong with a notch at the apex.
 
Small white flowers bloom in spring, and the fruits are 6-8 mm pomes that persist into winter.
