flowers again--in Valerianella, everything occurs in pairs.  Do you see that just inside each flower, there is a pair of flower buds?  This process is repeated until you get an inflorescence similar to the that shown in the first two images above. leaves--are these leaves opposite or alternate?
 
habit--Valerianella amarella is a low-growing annual.  Do you see the dichotomous branching at every node?
