Notice the separation in two main groups, related to diel activity.

Diurnal species occupy a wide range of thermal conditions, and show a range of thermorregulatory strategies, while nocturnal species are mainly thermoconformers. A few species (Delma butleri, Xantusia vigilis, and Lialis burtonis) show both diurnal and nocturnal activity —or are crepuscular— and are located in an intermediate position between the two main groups.
